Am I getting Dumber? Part 3

“I hate BrainAge! This game was created to make you feel stupid. Not only did the talking doctor head, who pops up to explain the game, annoy me but the fact that my Brain Age is 72 is ludicrous. Obviously the game is incorrect and faulty and I need to return the game for a version that’s working properly. I’m 24! How in the world can I have the brain of an elderly person.”

That was a just a replay of what I said when I first played BrainAge. The game is designed to stimulate Brain activity.  You start off with a few simple math and color tests that are designed to measure your BrainAge. When I first turned the game on I was extremely confident that I would ace this program. Maybe even scoring so high that the game would congratulate me on being extremely intelligent and tell me that there was no need for me to even play the rest of the game and that I would receive a full refund. Boy was I wrong! I felt like a toddler with some of the tests. Simple Mathematical problems seemed to throw me for a loop. I knew something was wrong when I hesitated on 2+2=? I actually had to pause and think about it.  I’ve been out of school for so long and realized that I use a calculator for everything even for simple addition equations. The color test also seemed to baffle me. They give you names of colors but instead of saying the name of the color you have to say the color of the name of the color. Ex:

The game starts and as you can see in the diagram above the word RED is BLUE so your supposed to say the color of the word not the word. For some reason my brain didn’t understand that and my score on that test was extremely low. At this point I’m getting very discouraged because I’ve realized that I’m not very quick mentally. I finally finished the test and I wait anxiously for my Brain Age despite the fact that I know it will be extremely bad. “Your BrainAge is 72!” flashed across the screen and I haven’t been able to get that image out of my head since. I have the brain of a grandmother and its my own fault. Instead of throwing the game across the room I realized that this game was made for me! I will continue to play this game because I consider this as maintenance for a brain thats been resting for a little too long. I would like to recommend Brain Age to anyone whos been out of school for rmore that 5 years. It really keeps those neurons working. I cant wait until i see “Your Brain Age is 24″ Flash across the screen because then that will mean that my brain activity is normal which is all I can hope for………..keep it Moving
